At Willoughby all pupils engage in a weekly enrichment programme.  This takes place every Friday afternoon.  Offering a weekly programme of enrichment activities develops pupils’ holistically and enriches their lives.  This is achieved through appropriate activities and working with of different ages and abilities pupils, outside of their traditional class group.

During the school year pupils engage in 6 different activities.  The activities include;

  • Arts and Crafts
  • Choir
  • Football
  • 4D Story
  • Health and Fitness
  • Sensory Play
  • Sound Bath
  • Yoga

 PMLD classes have their activity brought to them in class so they have familiar surroundings. All SLD classes are mixed with similar age range pupils to develop their social awareness and skills. This also supports pupils in their transition into other classes when the time comes.

Annual Residential

We offer and annual residential trip to Key stage 4 and 5 pupils. The 3 day residential trip is to at PGL, Caythorpe. The residential trip involves pupils staying away from home and participating in a selection of activities they would not normally have the opportunity to experience.

Tiny Tykes

Richard from Tiny Tykes works with pupils across the whole school. He leads sports sessions with our early year’s classes as well as an enrichment group on Friday afternoons. Richard’s sessions focus mainly on fun activities developing early ball skills and promoting an active lifestyle.

Workshops and Theme Days

Over the academic year we to hold a selection of workshops and theme days that enrich the experiences of our pupils. Examples those held over the academic year include Didgeridoo and Steelpan workshops both music therapy focused, World Book Day, Drama Workshops, Sci Fest and Zoolab.
