Enrichment Experiences

Enrichment Experiences

Enrichment Experiences are an integral aspect of our Personal Development curriculum.  At Willoughby, we distinguish between our enrichment experiences based on their intended outcomes.

Curriculum-Based

These experiences aim to bring classroom learning to life and are closely linked with what is taught in the classroom. They support and enhance the pupil’s understanding of curriculum content and allow our pupils to make links between what they have been learning and the wider world. This also includes time-tabled experiences that pupils regularly have access to including Forest Schools, Performing Arts, Whole School projects and sessions with sports professionals.

Preparing for Adulthood (PFA)

These experiences focus on developing our pupil’s life skills and supporting them to experience the local community. The focus of these experiences is dependent on the needs of the pupils and the life skills they are focussing on. Some examples of these trips include; visiting local supermarkets, visiting local cafés and other leisure facilities, visiting Bourne woods, internal and external work experience placements and accessing Food and Nutrition lessons.
