A very warm welcome to all returning and new Willoughby pupils for the Academic Year 2016 - 17.  I look forward to welcoming you all on Monday 3rd September.  Please note that the car parking arrangments have changed and that all parent and visitors parking is now on the left as you enter the school grounds. School staff will also be at the main and upper school entrances to greet all pupils and transport them to their classrooms.

 

Welcome to the Willoughby School Website.  Willoughby is an all age (2 – 19) Special School, for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning needs.

The Willoughby School Vision is to inspire every child to achieve excellence in their learning and personal development through creativity and innovation in a happy and safe environment.

Willoughby is a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted 2012), and we strive to provide outstanding academic and pastoral provision for all of our pupils.  We do this through focusing on four key priorities:

  • The impact of leadership at all levels to promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Consistently high quality teaching, learning and assessment to promote learning and raise students’ achievement 
  • Positive attitudes and behaviours of all,  promoting a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning
  • Students make rapid and sustained progress throughout year groups, key stages and across all subjects
